Perennial Green Tree Collards
Perennial Green Tree Collards
BACK IN STOCK! Perfect for fall planting in milder climates. Please read the shipping information before ordering!
Green Tree Collards are a very easy to grow perennial brassica plant that is hardy to at least 20° F, although many of our customers report they can take a good long freeze. The plants are incredibly robust and require very little care. In our zone 9 climate, we just give them a little water now and then and trim them back when they get too big and bossy.
"Merritt" Tree Collards are closer to a typical collard plant - they taste delicious and are an easy way to add fresh greens to your smoothies, soups, and stir frys. They are great roasted with veggies, too.
These perennial green collards grow to 4-6 feet high with a strong, central, woody trunk. They are compact and dense - more of a shrub than the taller Purple Tree Collards. These cuttings are made from a 4-year-old mother plant.
This perennial collard cutting has been rooting in organic potting soil for 6-8 weeks. It's now ready to pot up or plant out in your garden! We have a very limited supply of these rooted cuttings, order now before the summer heat moves in.
Rooted cuttings are shipped via priority mail. Most orders ship within 1 business day (unless the weather makes it a challenge to do so).
